Englewood is a town in Bergen County, located very close to the Hudson River waterfront and the New Jersey Palisades. This community is the location of very large, stately homes, standing on very large lots with expansive lawns.
The tree-lined streets provide a quiet, charming neighborhood to raise a family. But if you're not in the market for a home, there are plenty of Englewood rentals available. And scattered around town are several garden apartment complexes, many of which are the common low-rise NJ apartments.
Englewood has a fairly large downtown district, much of which is centered around the intersection of Dean Street and Palisade Avenue, effectively defining the directional notations of the roads. The downtown features a whole array of eateries, coffee shops, and local stores; all in a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere.
Although there aren't any train stations in the area, residents of Englewood apartments have access to New York City via the express buses of the NJ Transit. From the center of town, it is about a 45-minute trip into Midtown's Port Authority Bus Terminal. But for those who take their automobiles into the city can make the quick trip over the George Washington Bridge to arrive in Upper Manhattan in only a few minutes.
